Tremendous changes took place in northwestern China about 570 million years ago.When the sea subsided,the Qilian Mountain Grassland arose.“Qilian”is the term that ancient nomadic Huns, who lived in northern China,used to refer to the“heavenly mountain.”Today,the Uygur people,the descendents of the Huns, still call Qilian the“heavenlv mountain.”
