根据数学教学大纲几何部分的指示:几何教学的目的,在于系统地研究平面图形和空间图形的性质并应用这些性质解计算题和作图题;在于发展学生逻辑思维和空间想象力;……。同时大纲又指出平面几何部分应教会学生用轨跡法、相似法以及代数法来解有关作图题,它们都是结合着几何课程每一部分学习的;在解较复杂的作图题的时候,应当对同学讲明解题的各个步骤:分析、作图、证明和讨论,并在教学作图题的各个步骤过程中达到巩固有关几何图形的性质和发展学生逻辑思维和空间想象力的要求。
