直至今时今日,有史以来最值钱的手表是百达翡丽1939年产的铂金表1415HU。2002年4月13日,它在日内瓦安帝古伦的拍卖成交,得价660万瑞郎。以当天的汇率算,约3500万人民币;而倘若用执笔日的兑换价折算,则已过4200万。用李嘉诚买表讲价的口头禅形容:此表“一颗钻石都没有”。它值钱的原因,首先当然是此表很可能独一无二,而且是百达翡丽的作品。此外,它的另一具影响力因素,在于它是最早的世界时间表。二战期间的世界,交通极不发达。在某种意义上说,世界时间表或者日后出现的两地时间表,并没有实际用途。如今,两三千元的机票便可以坐某些廉价航空公司的飞机飞欧洲了,世界时间表无形中成为手表附加功能中最有用的类别。许多人买较“复杂”的机械表,都从这种所谓“旅行表”入门。于是,几乎所有表厂都做了具备此功能的表!
