为加强森林和野生动物资源的安全保卫,维护生态环境和林区社会治安稳定,原林业部经多年筹备,于1994年9月经国家编委批准,将林业部南京林业学校改建为林业部南京人民警察学校。学校的主要任务是培养忠诚于党和人民,具有军事素养和公安专业技能,熟悉林业专门知识,素质高、技能强的公安民警。转警四年来,学校按公安部公安院校的办学要求和警务化管理模式,以新起点,高标准,高质量办学,正在快速成长,今年已有了首届毕业生。南京警校位于紫金山北麓,玄武湖之滨,山清水秀,曾是一所建校40多年的营林类中等专业学校,1993年被江苏省教委评为省部级重点普通中等专业学校,1995年被林业部评为全国优秀中等林业学校。改办四年来成绩斐然,现校园面积193亩,建筑面积5万多平方米。有教学大楼、实验楼、行政办公楼、研究培训楼、学生、教工宿舍、食堂、图书馆、卫生所、400米标准跑道田径运动场、警体训练室等教学、辅助设施。校园内树木、花
