Easter bunny
The bunny or rabbit is a very popular Easter symbol all over the world because it is very cute. It reminds us of spring and new life. Nowadays people make bunny cakes to celebrate the holiday.
Easter eggs
In many ancient cultures, eggs meant life and fertility (肥沃). There is an old Latin proverb: All life comes from an egg. In ancient countries, people colored eggs. They ate them at the spring festivals. Gradually colored eggs became the part of Easter. Today, delicious hollow chocolate eggs in colorful foil (锡纸) often replace painted chicken eggs. But some families still color eggs themselves on the holiday.
Easter lily
It is very nice to receive some white lilies as an Easter gift today. The white flowers symbolize the purity (纯洁) of Jesus. Lilies, coming out from the earth in spring, also symbolize new life and the resurrection (复苏) of Christ. Nowadays the lily becomes the main decoration (装饰品) flower on Easter.
There are some other symbols for Easter: animals such as butterflies and lambs; flowers such as daffodils (水仙花) and tulips (郁金香); food such as hot cross buns and pretzels (脆饼干) with crossed arms representing praying, candles; dressing such as Easter hats and new clothes.
