遥感技术与日蓬勃发展,在地矿、石油、水文、林业、土地、测绘等领域迅速推广应用。可见光波段所提供的信息最直观,且视域广,获取资料速度快,是遥感信息应用中最广泛的一种。但在干旱区,可见光波段显示的地物对比度小,不易识别,而且在夜晚一切都不可见,尤其在第四系覆盖层下的地物更不可知。中科院地球物理所的遥感应用研究,根据本学科用多种技能探测地下奥秘的特点,于可见光遥感信息应用的同时,着重开发能识别地表第四系覆盖层下地物特点的热红外遥感应用。热红外辐射强度反映地物本身的温度特性。地表下地物的温度通过热传导,不论白天或夜晚都能穿过地球大气层到达宇宙空间,为卫星上的传感器所接收。各种不同地物的密度、热传导、热容量、热惯量均有差异,它们的关系虽复杂,通过一系列分析处理,及与地质、地球物理数据复合应用,并以野外地质观察、地质钻探、地球物理勘探的地质解释来检验,可以识别隐伏在地表下的一些地物。近年来,我们利用热红外遥感信息发现了地表肉眼看不见的地热田、地下水、隐伏地质构造等,下
