In the past, the used residual oil was dumped as garbage, but now they have a better use - making aircraft fuel. It may sound ridiculous, but they have actually happened. On November 23, 2011, Royal Dutch Airlines appointed a business representative to purchase samples from Qingdao and took 20 tons of waste oil samples from Qingdao Freescale Bio-Energy Technology Development Co., Ltd. After this batch of waste oil samples was transferred to the Netherlands, it will continue to be transformed into aviation fuel. If successful, KLM will purchase 120,000 tons of waste oil from China each year. In fact, this is not the first time that KLM has used jet fuel to make aviation fuel. In June this year, a KLM Boeing 737 aircraft burned fuel made from waste oil and flew from Amsterdam to Paris with 171 passengers.
