This paper presents a device to automatically turn off the voltage when no welding power supply is applied. The device can be used not only for reverse polarity welding (workpiece to negative) but also for positive welding (workpiece to cathode). This device is additionally equipped with a circuit consisting of a series of intermediate relays 10 (see figure), a resistor 20 and a diode 22 and a thyristor 3.
