古装戏,一般人的理解就是指一切穿着古代服装的戏剧。但在戏曲艺术中,古装戏却有一种特定的含义,专指民国初年梅兰芳独创的一些京剧剧目。代表作有《霸王别姬》、《天女散花》、《洛神》、《黛玉葬花》等。其特点是歌舞并重,继承并发展了不少民族舞蹈,如剑舞、花锄舞、飘带舞等。由于剧中主要旦角着“古装”,梳“古装头”而得名。
